Ab Mera Number Hai...

Ring any bells???
Ya it will. Cause this is line is staring down upon you on every Indian road. Along with a line comes a poster of a person. The person is no eye candy. No sir you are wrong. You are not in for a treat. Infact it is a photo of a common person in a big sized poster. I feel that Uninor is worth applauding seeing the way they are promoting themselves(or should I congratulate the adverstising company that came up with this bright idea!). Newayz i m not promoting the either of the two. Its just that the concept of the poster struck a chord.
Ab mera number hai... Its the aam janta sighting their importance in the largest democracy of the world. Taking it to the grassroots? Ya we can say that. I am reminded of President Gorbachev's Prestoika(Forgive me if dere is a spelling mistake! These Russians!). Well but it seems that are govt. Has forgotten it.(Or it neva seemed to have it in mind!).
Well back to the poster. The person in the hoarding stares out to you among other hoardings of super models, actors(Amitabh Bacchan with almost every other item that an Indian uses!), cricketers(not to forget Dhoni with a bat!) and other shit. But here we are with a common man-
no manicures, no facial, no flasy brands... Just a black and white. It basicaly reflects a normal life where dere is no grey... Cause from the start we are brought up by are parents in that way.
The typical Indian middle class mentality.
In the end I would just like to urge the advertisers that they should take cue from the Uninor stunt. After all maxium time of the telivision is covered by commercials... And we do watch it (even if we dont want to).
P.S- Not remotely related to food!!!!

Copenhagen and Liberhan... Bullshit!!!

Oh my god! The world leaders are gathering to discuss climate change. We will be saved at last! We wont end up 2012 . Sure they will come out with some solution this time. We may get a Copenhagen Protocol this time.Thank you very much. It will be life saving as the penicillin! This is exactly what we need. God bless us all...
And how can we forget the efforts of the Indian Govt. Which took so much pain to resolve the Ayodhya issue that the Liberhan report is coming out now. After 17yrs!(And that to a 1000 page report)!!! Sure it will be enlightning on how to tackle communal issues and i m sure it will heal the wounds of Babri masjid incident. And one suggestion.. Introduce the Liberhan report in the Indian school syllabus so that the tiny tots can benefit from it.

Sense the SARCASM!!!

You must have. Both the COP15( copenhagen) summit and the Liberhan report are an eyewash.
I mentioned both of them in the same article cause neither of these two are useful nor conclusive.
Its just a waste of time, money and resources. The ignorant in the danish capital have become so intelligent in the recent days that they too are discussing about global worming and the summit though they dont know the difference between OASIS and AOSIS(alliance of small island states)! Similarly the Liberhan report has gained mileage just because of media mumbo jumbo. After 17 yrs the report concluded the facts that were known and speculated before. It was just used as a mudslinging machine in the parliament. It was wordy not worthy.
The Copenhagen on the other hand saw the soap opera of global politics. The developed countries blamed the developing countries for their industrial growth which results in higher carbon emissions and vice versa. The blame game was on in both the scenarios.
What was the result? The result was that we got a F grade on our future report card. The politicians got to travel Copenhagen and eat Danish food. And not to forget for a brief period of time Former Prime Minister A.B Vajpayee was in the news again.
So who is the villain here? China? India? America? The Sangh Parivar? Or we ? Who are just silent spectators enjoying the show and watching our own downfall...

Just another day on the planet called Earth!!!

AGAIN!!!

First of all those of whom who don't know FYI SEHERI is an African word for celebration.

Before reading this write up i would like to make it clear to all my readers (though I have a very few of them! and I think they too just read my blogs out of sympathy!) that I am not a food junkie. Though I am a very big food freak. And there is difference between these two. Any ways all this blog is about my lunch at MC Donalds.

Cause of my luck i rounded up in a city like Rourkela(though it is better than a city like Silchar!) which limits my taste to very narrow cuisines . And due to global recession or God knows for what reason there isn't a single MC donalds outlet in BBSR . Not even Dominoes or a Subway! There is a tiny Pizza Hut in the invisible corner of big bazar which is only visible when viewed through a binocular but is hot enough to burn a big hole through your pocket!

While returning from Agra I saw a MC Donalds on the highway and i just couldn't control myself and my instincts. It was as if the reunion of two brothers separated at kumbh mela . I felt as if trumpets were blown as I pushed the glass doorway. I was ready for the momentous decision to decide from the mouth watering menu what was most suitable for my rumbling stomach and aching soul(which was crying for junk food since many days!). I decided upon chicken mc nuggets(6pcs)and a Mc Chicken meal.
Waiting for the food I thanked all the Gods I knew (even Saraswati ji! she might have been surprised) Taking the food tray to the table i carried it as if a mother carries her new born child. Then started the onslaught. Showing no mercy i took the largest bite possible of the burger(be careful, the mayo dripsand spoils your clothes!) and felt as if heavens were singing in joy and Christmas had come early. After each bite a sip of coke made me feel like I had attained moksha! After finishing, my eyes were still scanning the place when they fell upon the Mc shake menu. That was it. It had to be the last straw to break the camel's back. While coming out of the place i slipped past my relatives and went in to buy a Mc shake medium(which i repented later, should have brought a large!).

I enjoyed the chocolate milk shake on my way back( which was awesome) but lead to stomach problems later.

After reading this you all may have opinions of your own. But my opinion about this blog is that living in a place such as rourkela has made me such a despo that 1 visit to the Mc donalds made me write a blog about it which in turn wasted ur precious time which u could have used for chatting on g-talk and watching movies.

Gosh! i wasted another blog on food!I promise the next one wont be related to food in the most remote sense!

The Preamble...

So guys... here i am with my first blog. The name of the blog might sound pretty unconventional to you but it is a sentence that all of us use a lot of in our daily lives. May it be in Hindi or any other language on this planet. I being a student am a prudent user. The hostel food does not agree with the vaastu of my stomach as well as my taste buds.(As all of my friends will agree! Guys n8 out zindabad! N8 canteen zindabad!). I feel that perhaps every restaurant of Rourkela must have been lucky enough to serve us once. We are food striven hunger driven maniacs who just jump at good food. Courtesy - NIT RKL mess food.
I have drifted off so as to what will be my blogs be about. My blogs posted further will not be specified to a particular category or genre. They can be about the Harley Davidson launch in India or may be about the race to produce the I-Phone Killer. It may about Nissan launching its SUV's in India or may be about Bhopal gas tragedy that occurred 25 years ago and still the affected have not recieved any succour from the shameless penny pinching government.
The blogs may be about my reflections on life and my perspective about it. They will be purely my views not biased or copied I assure u.
I leave the intro short and precise. Just as the that the of Indian constitution.
P.S.- My blogs wont be las cumbersome as the constitution itself. Though i can guarantee many flaws in it!!!
Adios....
